Then switch over to the right leg. You do not have to lift your leg high off the ground at first, but if you want to make the exercise more challenging, make bigger circles, and do multiple sets. 

  • Banded glute bridge - This exercise can be done without a band if you do not have one, but using the resistance band will increase the challenge. First, lie on your back with your knees bent. Place your feet flat on the floor in front of your glutes and keep them hip-width apart. As you push through your heels, raise your hips towards the ceiling. Make sure to engage your core and glutes. Slowly lower your hips back to the floor, and repeat. 

  • Straddle stretch - Start by kneeling on the floor. Extend your right leg out to the side and plant your foot on the floor. Bring your left foot out and bend that knee at 90 degrees. Then lean forward at your waist and place your forearms in front of you on the floor. Gently stretch and rock back and forth. Switch legs and repeat. 

  • Sumo Squat - You can perform this exercise with dumbbells. Start by standing with your feet wider than shoulder-width apart. Have your toes pointed outwards? If you are using weights, have a dumbbell in each hand with your arms extended with the weights between your legs. With your back straight, push your knees outward as you bend the knees and drive your hips down and back to lower yourself into a squat position. Make sure your motion is slow and controlled. Push through your heels to stand back up straight, and repeat.
